2006 Hunterdon Drug Awareness 11th Annual Golf Classic

The Hunterdon Drug Awareness Program's Annual Golf Classic "Drive to be Drug Free" took place at the Copper Hill Country Club Golf Course, on May 22nd, 2006. The previous weeks had been pretty stormy and we were lucky to have a dry, albeit fairly cool, day for golfing. There were a total of 59 golfers. We had some very competative golfing going on during the day, the luncheon food was excellent, and there were some great prizes given out this year.

First, Second, Third and Most Honest Foursomes will be described below, but there were other events and we would like to take the time now to discuss those winners. For the category of Longest Drive: Men - Jerry Depitro took the prize. For Longest Drive: Women - Freddetta McCormick took home that award for the 2nd year in a row!. Closest to the Pin went to Dave Boerger, and finally Matt Tremaine and Tom Cunningham won the Pot of Gold who both generously gave their winnings back to HDAP as donations!

This years luncheon and raffle awards went great, with many people winning some very good raffle prizes such as a $200 gift certificate from Kries Jewelers donated by Buddy's Grab 'N Go on Main St., Flemington, a one night stay at the National Hotel in Frenchtown, a romance package from the Holiday Inn Select in Clifton, NJ, 5 different golf bags, and much more. The 50/50 this year was done by a fantasy golf scratch off game, with our Former Board President, Mike Griffin winning the 50/50. Mike was very generous when he donated back his 50/50 prize of $125 to Hunterdon Drug Awareness Program for the 2nd year in a row!

The Board of Directors and Staff at Hunterdon Drug Awareness would like to take this time to thank our golfers, all of our corporate and personal sponsors of this event, and our community members who made donations. It is with your support that we can continue the high quality drug and alcohol counseling and prevention programs to those Hunterdon County residents who could not otherwise afford to receive these services.
