1st Place and the two 2nd place winners
  • WINNER - Shannon V. - Wanting to make a change and taking action on it. Saying one thing and doing another, is not making a change. Recovery from drugs needs radical change; it requires motivation, be it intrinsic or extrinsic. If the motivation is intrinsic, it is because the person wants a better life. I've only seen people fall deeper into their addictions, never once seen a recovery. Why? Because people are usually too entrenched in their pain. People need hope, if they have hope they can make it. People need love and they need faith. Of faith, hope, and love, the greatest is love, but with all three, recovery can begin.
  • 2nd Place Winner - Lauren B. - You walk down a dark path. Frightened. But still on the wrong road. Desperate. But with nowhere else to go. Unknowing. As the shadow sinks in. Numb. As it destroys you from within. Screaming. As you finally realize. Desparing. As you break down and cry. Hopeful. As you pursue a distant light. Seeing. As it restores your lost site. Understanding. Finally recognizing the mess you're in. Recovering. Recovery begins with recognition.
  • 2nd Place Winner - Dean G. -
    A new beginning.
    A second chance.
    A better life.
    A voiced confession.
    A desire for forgiveness.
    A shed tear.
    A smile and laugh.
    A permanent cleanness.
    A joy overflowing.
Like I said - Recovery begins with Jesus Christ.

Revelation Generation Speaker Responses
  • Glenn Duncan - Often times, even with professionals in the field, a common mistake is pushing recovery on somebody who is in, or needs to be in, the stage of discovery. One needs to discover a problem exists before they can plot a course of action on how best to recover from that problem.
  • Kurt Shafer - Brokeness, and knowing that you, all by yourself, haven't the power to "Ressurect" from your addiction.
  • Brian Adams - Recognizing that there is a problem.

  • Anonymous - Come back better, you were hurt in any way and you become healthy and get better. Recovery is the best thing that can happen to people. They come back, like they were dead and they come back to life. If you were hurt you will think the same thing. If you were in a coma or something and the doctor said there is a very low chance to get better, and a breakthrough comes and you're on your way to recovery. I'm telling you this is the best. Recovery begins with stopping drugs and what wrong you do, and start over by not doing that. There's more to recovery than getting healthy, you can do the wrong thing and want to do better, so you change; that is recovery.
  • Anonymous - Love, God's love. Accepting it, denying it, your choice. Believe ... it's your time ... start over.

  • Anonymous - Jesus, Trusting in Him and letting Him shape you into what He made you for.
  • Anonymous - Surrender to God. Complete surrender. Once one is desperate enough to give it all to God, then he is on the road to recovery. Getting to that point can be hard. It often takes the pain of seeing your family hurt by your addiction. Such things that are valuable to you are the things that help you make the decision that surrender is worth it. When the selfishness of your addiction destroys you life, you realize all the things that were once wonderful. your past can't be changed, but only through God can we change our future. But its only through Him, nothing or no one else. Once we let ourselves in the position of God, we just fall back to where we were. God doesn't want our help, he just wants our humility.
